If a recent Pap test shows abnormalities, your doctor may recommend a colposcopy. A Colposcopy is an in-office procedure where your cervix, vagina and vulva are closely examined for signs of disease using an instrument called a colposcope. The procedure feels similar to a regular Pap test. A biopsy may be taken at this time.
